WE NEED OUR HEADS EXAMINED

Writer's picture: Linda Sullivan SmithLinda Sullivan Smith

So, what are you thinking about? As humans we have the glorious ability to REALIZE what we are thinking. Sit with me for a minute and consider what are you thinking? Isn't that phenomenal - šŸ§

Something marvelous just happened - you thought a thought above the thought you were thinking. (that might need reading twice šŸ™ƒ)

Why does this matter? OH! the list IS long, but very distinguished as to why this matters and is beyond the scope of a blog post to expound upon so let us just focus on a couple of reasons that this kind of reasoning is important and necessary.

One reason - "We are told to destroy arguments and all arrogance raised against the knowledge of God, and to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ". My dear ones, we could not obey this if we didn't have the capability of corralling our thoughts.

If you love Jesus, it should be clear as to why we need to lasso those wild horse thoughts that want to argue with God and our sometimes arrogant self who wants to be ruler of our own life.

Let's move past this to the main point of examining our head. ā¤

HOPE - specifically the hope found in our salvation. How is that our HOPE? Am I saying that I hope that I am saved? NO! But because I am, I have an actual living hope! A living hope through the resurrection of Jesus.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN ON A PRACTICAL LEVEL?

Did I mess up today? Yep, numerous times, but I am still a daughter of the most high God because - I am SECURE in the knowledge -

THAT IN CHRIST -

Do you have a few battles going on right now? Me too!

BUT IN CHRIST -

Are you unsure of what the future holds? Me too!

But, in Christ -

Are you traveling the road of suffering?

In Christ -

So as we've been examining our head - let us be sure that we have that helmet of salvation securely in place because the assurance of salvation is our impenetrable defense against anything the enemy throws at us. THAT'S HOPE FOR TODAY. Knowing who you are IN CHRIST.

That same helmet is our Hope for tomorrow - Our helmet is most effective when we treasure what it represents. As we wear the helmet of salvation every day, our minds are guarded against the evil schemes the enemy has planned for us. We choose to keep our minds protected by the glorious HOPE.
