WISDOM AND WEEPING

WISDOM AND WEEPING

Are you being wise this Christmas? We’ve all seen the popular saying that “wise men still seek Him”.

So true, we are most wise when we seek Him, not His gifts, not His blessings, not even His rescue from a disaster.

None of those are wrong, in His word He tells us to ask Him for all those things.

Herein lies the wisdom of seeking Him – in HIM reside all those things that we most desire. When we delight in the Lord, the desires of our hearts are freely given to us by Him.

Yet, I find myself weeping on occasion this season. My heart’s desire is to see those I love the most open their hearts to the ONE who loves them the most. Because it has been so long and there is such resistance to Jesus, I confess a tiny part of my heart feels like giving up.

But I will not give up!

Because I’m still seeking God –

I know His word says, “Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!”

I know that God’s kindness leads to repentance.

I know that God’s love is unrelenting and unstoppable.

I know that God can open the eyes of those blinded by the God of this world.

Yes, wisdom and weeping often go together but oh the shouts of joy when we see that our tears poured out into the mighty hands of the risen Savior are never wasted, but always wise.
